Well, I haven't had a chance to watch any movies this week. I've been busy watching all the new shows on TV. There are some good, some not so good.
One thing about my TV viewing habits. I'm not trendy. I do not watch all the typical popular shows, like "Seinfeld" or any reality shows (OK, maybe one...). So, instead of my weekly movie review, I'll give you my opinions on the shows I watched!
Dancing with The Stars - This is the one reality show I watch on a regular basis. And I can't really justify it. I don't really like ballroom dancing and I don't really like the stars, but for whatever reason, I watch. This season looks like it might actually have some talented dancers. Sabrina from the Cheetah Girls did an awesome job and I think she has a shot at winning. Also, Jane Seymour did a good job, especially since she's the oldest female competitor. For the guys, I liked Helio Castroneves. He looked like he was having fun. Only time will tell. First competitor voted off was Josie Maran, a supermodel who couldn't dance.
Tuesdays proved to be a challenge for me. There were 5 shows I wanted to watch, which one would I chose??? Thank God for the DVR.
NCIS - Good season opener. My mom got me hooked on this show a season or so ago and I'm a devoted viewer now. They tied up some loose ends and opened a few more cans of worms. Should be a good season.
House - It was an entertaining hour. It centered around an interesting medical case and House's search for a new team. There was also a funny kidnapping storyline that had me howling. Wilson stole House's guitar, so House stole one of his patients. It was good. Makes me want to watch next week.
Bones - Originally, I watched this show, but then I got bored, so I DVR'd it to see if it was still boring. It wasn't. The chemistry between all of the actors on this show is fantastic. You'll have to watch it find out what happens.
I just watched Cane today. It was a very interesting show. I was prepared to not like it, because my mom said she didn't. But I always forget that we have completely dissimilar tastes in most shows. Jimmy Smits is always worth watching and this big sweeping drama bears at least another watch.
That was just Monday and Tuesday. Right now, I'm watching Dirty Sexy Money. So, I need to pay attention.
I'll write more later.

Premonition
When I first saw the trailers for this movie, I thought it looked fairly interesting. But I never went to the cinema to see it and didn't even know it was out on DVD until a friend of mine asked if I had watched it. She wanted me to settle a bet between her and her husband. That was weeks ago, and since then, everyone I know (practically) has asked me if I had watched this movie. I finally decided that it must be good, if everyone had seen it. So last night, I watched it.
"Premonition" is a movie about a woman who lives the worst week of her life out of sequence. It starts on Wednesday, when she receives the news her husband has died. Every time she goes to sleep, it's a different day. Sometimes, her husband is dead, sometimes alive. Each time, she gets a clue for the next day. It's a riveting, pyschological movie, not quite a thriller, but still quite interesting. The twists and turns of the plot keep you very intent on the story, you'll have to concentrate on this movie so you don't miss a thing.
I don't want to give too much away for the small minority of people who haven't watched this yet. So, pardon me if the review is a bit spare. I haven't yet mastered the art of plot synopsis, without giving away the ending.
My only problem with the movie was Sandra Bullock. I like her, like most of her movies. But in this one, I just couldn't get past the "it's Sandra Bullock playing X" issue. I like when actors disappear into their roles and she just didn't do that this time.

Not a movie review
Hey, I know this is supposed to be about movies.
But you need to visit http://deathbykids.blogspot.com/. It is one of the funniest blogs I have ever read.

Highlander: The Source
OK...I'm not sure what I was expecting out of this movie. But I do know this wasn't it.
I love the concept of the Highlander. But with each successive movie, the story gets more and more ridiculous. With the exception of the first one and Highlander: Endgame, the movies just didn't make sense. And this was among the worst of them all.
The story starts out much like Highlander 3, except instead of Conor MacLeod, sitting in a bar, moping over all of his lost loves, while society crashes around him, we have Duncan MacLeod, sitting on top of a building get drunk, moping over his lost loves, while society crashes around him. Wow. Did they steal the script from the other movie?
The scenario is simple. There are only a few Immortals left, no Watchers and the world is in shambles. The remaining Immortals, Methos (the oldest of them all), Giovanni and Reggie, are all searching for the Source, why Immortals exist. Duncan is pulled into their Quest by Joe Dawson, a Watcher who is his best friend (from the Series). Joe gets killed by the Guardian (of the Source) and Duncan feels honor-bound to find the answer.
The bad thing is, you know from the very beginning that Duncan is the One (of "There can be only one"). You've know that since Endgame. But as the first 3 movies prove, even when you think it's over, it's not.
There were NO surprises in this movie. The plot was ridiculous and the cinematography was weird. Very choppy. I think they were going for that Matrix-y look and failed miserably. C'mon guys, you have a very loyal fan base with this series and all you do is churn out CRAP.
Overall rating - I WANT MY 2 HOURS BACK!
