Sorry for the delay

Wow, has it really been nearly a year since I've reviewed a movie???

I have watched quite a few movies since last December. Just haven't been into updating this blog. So, I'll try to catch you up a bit.

OK. Here we go...

The Hitcher - Very creepy thriller/slasher movie. Stars Sean Bean as a very nasty hitchhiker. Yet another reason not to pick up strangers on the side of the road. I actually watched the entire movie (which is rare these days) Rating - I want 0 hours back.

Snow Cake - Recommended by my mom. Stars Alan Rickman and Sigourney Weaver. It's a very sweet, poignant story about an impaired woman and a man struggling with himself. Hard to describe but definitely worth a watch. Rating - I want 0 hours back.

Carolina - Stars Shirley MacClaine and Julia Stiles. I rated it with 3 stars on Netflix, but darned if I can remember it. Must have been a decent movie.

Notes on a Scandal - Starring Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett. I didn't like this one enough to watch it all the way through.

Bill Engvall: 15 Degrees off Cool - Taping of his live show. He is hilarious and I would definitely recommend watching him. His observations are spot on and he makes more fun of himself than anyone else. Rating - I want 0 hours back.

Driving Lessons - Starring Rupert Grint (Ron from Harry Potter) and Julie Walters. I admit, the main reason I got this one was for my daughter, who loves Rupert Grint. I didn't watch it, but my mom did and so did my daughter and they both liked it.

Saving Grace - Stars Brenda Blethyn and Craig Ferguson. A recently widowed, formerly wealthy woman finds herself in a bit of a financial pickle. She is an excellent gardener with few other marketable talents. Craig Ferguson is her gardener who is also a pothead. Together with a few other friends, they find a way out of her difficulties and eventually she falls in love. Nice twist at the end. All in all, I'd rate it I want 0 hours back.

Carlos Mencia Not for the Easily Offended - So, what can I say about Carlos? He goes after everyone, he's not prejudiced. This DVD was a compilation of some of his earlier live appearances and I laughed myself silly. He says things that we would all love to say, but are just too afraid of being labelled racist...If you like Carlos Mencia, you NEED to watch this.

OK...I'm bored now...as I'm sure you would be...so I'll condense this. If you want a review of any of the following, let me know...otherwise, I'll just start with my newer ones (and Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix after I watch it again).

Worth Watching
The Shipping News - Judi Dench, Kevin Spacey
The Game Plan - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
Stardust - Gwyneth Paltrow and a large cast of cameos.
The Last Legion - Colin Firth
Juno
National Treasure II - Nicolas Cage, Helen Mirren, Jon Voigt
PS I Love You - Gerard Butler (yeah sexy), oh yeah and Jennifer Garner
The Bucket List - Sad but sweet. Jack Nicholason and Morgan Freeman
Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee - awesome...makes me mad every time.
Sweeny Todd - Johnny Depp, Helen Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman (Gory but good)
Sin City - Graphic Novel made into a movie. Pretty Good
Enchanted - Cute with McDreamy and Amy Adams
Hope Springs - Colin Firth

Made me sick
Cloverfield - The jerky camera motions about had me throwing up. Had to watch this one lying down!

Tried to Watch but got bored or just didn't like
I Am Legend - Will Smith, remake of The Andromeda Strain
Evening - Natasha Richardson, Vanessa Redgrave
Eastern Promises - Viggo Mortensen
Before The Devil Knows You're Dead - Phillip Seymour Hoffman
One More Kiss - Nope
Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont - Mom loved it. I couldn't even watch it.
Tara Road - Stupid
The Assassination of Jesse James - Brad Pitt. But stupid...if you want to watch this story, I would recommend an old movie with Bob Dylan...I think it's called Bob Ford and Jesse James.

Didn't Like
No Reservations - Catherine Zeta-Jones, Aaron Eckhardt

Didn't Watch, Probably should have
3:10 to Yuma - Russell Crowe
Secondhand Lions - Haley Joel Osment, Robert Duvall, Michael Caine
The Golden Compass

That's all for now...if you want me to review my new ones, Fool's Gold, In Bruges, and The Wyvern Mysteries, let me know.
